You are not alone in this pain, and your grief is valid

The loss of a pet can be one of the most profound and heartbreaking experiences we face. Our animals are more than just pets, they are family, companions, sources of unconditional love, and witnesses to our everyday lives. When they are gone, the grief can feel overwhelming, isolating, and sometimes even misunderstood by others. Whether the loss was sudden or expected, the emotional impact is real and deep. It can touch every part of our lives, from our routines to our sense of comfort and connection. You don't have to go through this alone. I’d be honored to support you through this and would love to welcome you into this space.

One uninterrupted hour set aside to honor your grief through connection and shared understanding.

Hi, I’m Thalia. I know firsthand how deep the pain of losing a beloved pet can go because I lost my soul dog after 17 incredible years together. Through my own healing journey, I found a calling to support others in theirs. I am a certified pet loss grief specialist and lifelong animal lover. I created this safe, compassionate space for anyone navigating this kind of heartbreak.

Along the way, I noticed a real gap in the support available. Many pet loss groups were large, which made it difficult for me to open up, and they were often not led by licensed mental health professionals. When more intense emotions came up, participants were frequently referred out because the facilitators weren’t equipped to hold that kind of space. These experiences inspired me to create something different: an intimate, professionally facilitated group where you can feel truly seen, supported, and safe, no matter where you are in your grief. You’re not alone and I’m honored to walk with you through this journey.

This service is only offered at a private pay rate which allows us to focus on providing personalized, flexible support without the constraints of insurance requirements. This means no limitations on topics we can cover and more freedom to tailor the support to your needs. However, participants do have to be located in Texas or Virginia to participate, per my licensing requirements.

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule and everyone processes the loss of a pet in their own time. This support space welcomes both drop-in and ongoing participation, offering flexibility while also honoring the value of continuity. Some people join for a single session, while others return regularly as part of their grief process. Session packages are available for those seeking continuity in their grief support.

That’s completely okay! There is never any pressure to share in this space, listening and being present is enough. Sessions are limited to 8 participants to create a more personal, supportive experience and to allow ample time for those who wish to share. This is a safe, compassionate environment where you can take in the support of others who truly understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. Many people find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their grief. The focus is on support, not fixing or rushing the grief process.

Not at all. Whether your loss is very recent, happened some time ago, or even years ago, there’s no timeline for grief. You’re welcome wherever you are in your healing journey.

Children and adolescent grief is very real and I hope to offer a dedicated space for younger participants in the future. For now, this space is designed for adults, 18 years or older, to ensure the safest and most supportive environment for everyone.

While I am a licensed therapist, this offering is a support space, not group therapy. The focus is on connection, shared experience, and community rather than clinical treatment.

The space is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional with specialized training in pet loss grief allowing for a deeper level of emotional support than many peer-led spaces. My clinical background lets me hold space for complex emotions and guide the space in a thoughtful, intentional way.

The space is kept intentionally small (max 8 participants) to foster a sense of safety, intimacy, and connection. This level of care and personal attention helps grieving individuals feel truly seen and supported, which is why many people find value in this type of paid support.
