You are not alone in this pain, and your grief is valid

The loss of a pet can be one of the most profound and heartbreaking experiences we face. Our animals are more than just pets—they’re family, companions, sources of unconditional love, and witnesses to our everyday lives. When they’re gone, the grief can feel overwhelming, isolating, and sometimes even misunderstood by others. Whether the loss was sudden or expected, the emotional impact is real and deep. It can touch every part of our lives, from our routines to our sense of comfort and connection. You don't have to go through this alone-I’d be honored to support you through this and would love to welcome you into group!

This group is a recurring group that lasts 1 hour.

Hi, I’m Thalia. I know firsthand how deep the pain of losing a beloved pet can go—I lost my soul dog after 17 incredible years together. Through my own healing journey, I found a calling to support others in theirs. I'm a certified pet loss grief specialist and a lifelong animal lover, and I created these groups to offer a safe, compassionate space for anyone navigating this kind of heartbreak.

Along the way, I noticed a real gap in the support available—many pet loss groups were large, which made it difficult for me to open up, and they were often not led by licensed mental health professionals. When more intense emotions came up, participants were frequently referred out because the facilitators weren’t equipped to hold that kind of space. These experiences inspired me to create something different: an intimate, professionally facilitated group where you can feel truly seen, supported, and safe—no matter where you are in your grief. You’re not alone, and I’m honored to walk with you through this journey.

No, this is a private pay support group which allows us to focus on providing personalized, flexible support without the constraints of insurance requirements. This means no limitations on topics we can cover and more freedom to tailor the group to your needs. However, participants do have to be located in Texas to participate, per my licensing requirements.

Not at this time. However, please reach out to me and let me know if there are other days or times that would work better for you to attend the group. I’m working on adding more groups based on interest.

That’s completely okay! There’s never pressure to share during group. Many people find comfort simply by being in the presence of others who understand.

Not at all. Whether your loss is very recent, happened some time ago, or even years ago, there’s no timeline for grief. You’re welcome wherever you are in your healing journey.

Each group is a safe, compassionate space to share, listen, and connect with others who understand your pain. You’re never required to speak—being present and listening is enough. Each group is limited to 8 participants to ensure a more personalized experience and ample time for everyone to share and feel supported. We focus on support, not fixing or rushing the process.

While I am a licensed therapist, this is a support group—not group therapy. The focus is on connection, community, and shared experience, not clinical treatment.

That said, the group is led by a licensed mental health professional with specialized training in pet loss grief. This allows for a deeper level of emotional support than typical peer-led groups. My clinical background allows me to safely hold space for complex or intense emotions that may come up, and to guide the group in a more structured and intentional way—something many people find especially helpful in their healing.

Groups are small (max 8 people) to foster a safe, intimate setting—unlike larger groups that can feel overwhelming and impersonal. This level of care and personal attention is a key reason many people find value in this type of paid group.
