Through therapy, you will gain insight and awareness into how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all affect each other and play out in your daily life. We will explore different patterns of behaviors that are negatively affecting your everyday life and causing feelings of distress. I will always validate your feelings but I will also challenge you when needed to promote growth.
When you step into a session with me, you can expect to be in a non-judgmental place where you are safe to be yourself and process any emotions or difficulties. Therefore, no topic is off limits; and if you like to express yourself by cursing while you talk, I welcome that too! Therapy works when you can be yourself, trust your therapist, and be vulnerable enough to process anything. That's why my number one goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you that makes you feel safe being your authentic self. Also, don't be surprised if you catch yourself having many moments of laughter during sessions! That is also part of this process :)
The impact of trauma is severe and can be detrimental to many areas of our lives. We will work together to process any trauma you have experienced through talk therapy and help alleviate heavy feelings to provide relief. Imagine living a life where trauma responses and memories of the event(s) are no longer taking over. Let's get you there together!
We have to nourish and live in our bodies every single day. Therefore, our relationship with food and our bodies should not be a primary source of distress for anybody. We will work together on exploring root causes for these concerns and learn how to create a healthier relationship with these every day aspects of our lives.
Adolescence is a unique period of time that can bring many concerns up for parents. If your teen is struggling with any mental health concerns and you need support, you have come to the right place! We will work together to improve your teen's behaviors and moods as well as incorporate family sessions throughout treatment to give you the tools you need to support your loved one.
Hey there! I'm Thalia - a mental health therapist born and raised in Houston, Texas. I got my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. I have over 10 years of experience working with clients at all levels of care from the most intensive at psychiatric hospitals to the least intensive at outpatient centers. This has allowed me to fully understand people's needs at whatever stage they're in and truly meet them where they're at. I specialize in working with adolescents and their families as well as young adults struggling with a variety of disorders and concerns. Adolescence and young adulthood are very tough periods of time for everyone and it is my passion to help people navigate through these times.
I have always been very curious about people's life stories because when you know the story, you can better understand a person. I always feel incredibly grateful when clients choose me to be the person they share some of their most vulnerable parts of themselves with. I often hear in sessions "I've never shared this with anyone before" and those are the most rewarding moments. That is why I love providing mental health therapy.
When I'm not in sessions, you can catch me loving on my fur babies, rescuing more fur babies ;), going to an escape room, getting competitive by playing board games, or spending time with my friends and family.
In this brief call, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for from therapy and in a therapist, determine mutual availability for sessions, discuss any logistics about insurance and/or billing, and decide if we are a good fit!
I use a platform named Headway to manage my billing and admin work so that I can place all of my focus on our work together. Headway manages everything related to payments and insurance to make things as easy as possible for you. Before our first session, I will send you a link to set up your Headway profile and within a few days we'll have information on your insurance coverage and copay information. This makes sure you know what your expected to pay even before we get started!
We're ready for your intake session! Get ready because this session is packed, structured, and goes by fast. I will be asking you A LOT of questions about different areas of your life. I always recommend that you have nothing major to do after an intake (or something fun planned!) because going through that many areas of your life in a quick manner with someone you're just getting to know can be exhausting for some.
I am currently in network with Aetna, BCBS of Texas HMO & PPO plans, Cigna, United Healthcare/Optum, BCBS of Massachusetts, Horizon BCBS of New Jersey, Carelon Behavioral Health, Oxford, and Oscar Health. All clients regardless of insurance plan must live in Texas to receive services. Verification of benefits is required before working together as there may be some specific plans within these insurances that don't provide coverage.

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify me 24 hours in advance. If you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee. If you do not show to your appointment you will be charged a $100 no show fee.
*Please note that insurance does not cover late cancellation or no show fees.*
I am only offering virtual sessions at this time.
Currently I am only working Tuesdays-Fridays with varying hours depending on the day. Weekends are not available at this time. I have limited evening slots that typically get filled up pretty quickly. However, we can discuss availability during our consultation call to make sure our schedules align and will be a good fit for both of us.

You will complete 4 hours of clinical supervision each month as required by the board and will have access to me for brief, phone call check-ins in between supervision when you need extra support. Supervision will be completed virtually and we will use a combination of group and individual format. However, if geographical concerns are not an issue and you would like to meet in person periodically during our time together, I am happy to coordinate that with you. As clinical supervision is a commitment and requires the supervisor and supervisee to have a close, professional relationship, I do require an initial interview to make sure we are a good fit.
I enjoy supervising motivated individuals who can accept feedback, ask questions, and have a passion for social work. I would be honored to be your supervisor and guide you through this journey to your clinical license!
Please email me directly at info@bridgetohealingservices.com or call me at 832-713-6474 to chat with me about your interest in supervision.
